- Jette Büchsenschütz (she/her) works as a dramaturg, writer, and cultural worker in the fields of dance, performance, and theatre, based in Berlin and with strong ties to Vienna. With an academic background in Chinese Studies and Dance Studies, her practice moves along the edges of theory and movement, language and body. As a freelance dramaturg, she has worked with festivals such as Tanztage Berlin and ImPulsTanz Festival Vienna. She collaborates with choreographers and artists including Peter Pleyer/Cranky Bodies a/company, Anna Nowicka, Deva Schubert, Aliénor Dauchez/La Cage, Emilie Gregersen, Anan Fries and Sheena McGrandles. Her texts have been published amongst others at PW-Magazine, tanzraumberlin magazin, Positionen – Texte zur aktuellen Musik, gallerytalk and tanzschreiber. Alongside her dramaturgical and writing practice, she explores affective states within the cultural field, questions of mental „health“, as well as structural precarity. With her research on depression as a socio-cultural phenomenon, she was invited in 2023 to the Research Affiliate Programme at Tanzquartier Wien, as well as to wpZimmer in Antwerp.
